Love a good video game? For most of us, gaming represents a favourite pastime, and no matter how old you are, you can find something you’ll love here. Not tried it. It’s time to have a go!
Before we can plunge in, though, it’s important to note that we do need some gear to get the most out of the vast repository of digital fun… so what does that entail? Let’s figure out how you can create a killer gaming setup (hopefully without spending a fortune) so that you can enjoy your gaming uninterrupted. We’ll also check out which games are best for a light setup, like casino games and other mobile apps, versus the heavier gaming options, such as Fortnite or Horizon.
Light Gaming Setup
The great news is that if you just want to play light games, such as casino games or mobile options, you’re probably not going to end up with a great big bill to create your gaming setup. Indeed, if you’ve already got a high-end phone, you might feel you’ve got everything you need – but let’s check this out anyway, because there are likely a few things that could spice up your gaming fun.
First up, do you regularly find yourself squinting at the screen? A lot of us do, and it’s not good for our eyes (as you might already know), so if you’re putting in long hours on gaming apps, you might want to consider an anti-glare screen protector. It’ll cut down the reflections and make it easier to see what you’re doing and whether you’ve won at your last hand of poker or not!
Next up, we’d really recommend some decent earbuds or even a gaming headset, especially if you’re going to be playing on public transport at any time. Okay, you don’t necessarily need to hear everything that’s going on in your mobile game with crystal clarity, but it makes the gaming experience way more immersive and enjoyable, and… why not? Online casinos (and other gaming apps) put a lot of effort into making the sounds, and you’ll get the most enjoyment out of them if you can hear them properly! Whether you’re playing poker online or just checking out something like Angry Birds 2, the sounds are part of the experience, and you should invest in equipment that will let you enjoy that!
What else? Well, we’d really recommend a good power pack too, especially for those who game during a long commute. You know the feeling – you’re having fun, not watching the battery icon, and when you get to the destination, you realize your phone’s almost dead. Alternatively, you’re hopping on a train or into an Uber at the end of a long day, planning to unwind with a few slot spins… and same story. Wave goodbye to that with a good power pack, which will give your phone multiple charges and let you play until your thumbs are sore.
Heavy Gaming Setup
So, we’ve looked at mobile gaming, but what if you’re a PC gaming fan? Well, you’re going to need a bit more gear. PC games are the bees knees these days, with incredible graphics, phenomenal stories, and super-speedy interfaces, but that means you need the hardware to keep up. Thinking of checking out the best PC games of all time? For most of these, you’re going to need a reasonably good gaming setup.
Whether you’re going laptop or desktop, that means you need to pay attention to things like RAM, GPU, the graphics card, the processor, and more. In many cases, you’ll want an i7 (or equivalent) to run modern games, and a solid-state drive certainly doesn’t hurt either.
These get expensive fast, though, so we’d recommend looking at second-hand pieces if you’re operating on a budget. A laptop might prove more convenient than a desktop, but you may be able to put together a desktop for less because you can leave out components like the battery.
Either way, when you’re done, you’ll have an incredible gaming setup that’s capable of handling everything, from things like Baldur’s Gate 3 to any casino platform you can find. This kind of processing muscle means that the gaming world is your oyster, and you’ll be hard pushed to find anything your machine can’t manage. The earbuds or headset we mentioned above are a great addition to this setup if you’re a serious gamer; even if you’ve got a dedicated gaming room with no background noise, a proper headset will mean you can really immerse yourself in the world you’re exploring. And if you’re just using your machine to enjoy the casino space and check out what’s new on the top platforms? That’s fine too; it’ll still crank up the immersion and make it feel like you’re in an actual brick-and-mortar establishment. Sounds like a win before you’ve even rolled the dice!
